Ce as zice eu (si ce as fi zis probabil si cand eram Account Manager in Romania – fara experienta globala):
In Bucuresti pe 88 FM se prinde BBC-ul in limba engleza. Vorbesc despre cam tot ce misca in lume – inclusiv Bolivia, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Sri Lanka, etc, etc
Eu am citit in Ianuarie un f bun articol pe aceasta tema in revista Time:
http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1872561,00.html
Articol care incepe asa:
“Breaking America’s dependence on foreign energy supplies and suppliers who often don’t like the U.S. is a driving force behind the search for alternative fuels. That includes electric cars, which wheezing Detroit has finally realized it needs to produce. But at Detroit’s International Auto Show this month, the excitement surrounding the Big Three’s announcements that they’re shifting from gasoline to voltage has been tempered by another realization: most of the lithium used to make the batteries for those cars is found in Bolivia, whose leftist President isn’t too fond of the U.S.”
Wikipedia.com – Lithium:
Nearly half the world’s known reserves are located in the Andes – containing country Bolivia, which in 2009 is negotiating with Japanese and French firms to begin production. According to the US Geological Survey, Bolivia’s Uyuni Desert has 5.4 million tons of lithium, which can be used to make batteries for hybrid and electric vehicles. This is the largest amount of lithium in any country when compared Chile’s 3 million tons of lithium and the United States’s 410,000 tons. Icy relations between Bolivia’s President Evo Morales and the United States could delay negotiations, and the indigenous people who live on this land could also slow down the process by demanding that they reap their share of the profits.
